Epoxy resin for lamination and architecture
The ECO system is suitable for many applications, for example in the construction industry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. It is a classic coating, laminating and repairing epoxy resin. It can be used as a casting resin in layers up to 1 cm thick. You can coat your floors, table tops and other objects. Our EPODEX ECO system can be mixed with all our color pigments.
Instructions for use
- Always start with an epoxy resin primer to avoid high material loss and blistering (layer thickness: 0.2-0.5mm). Simply use a small amount of pure epoxy resin (for priming floors and other colored substrates, we recommend our water-based epoxy resin, the EPOXY PRIMER system).
- Mix the A-component resin with the B-component starch in a 2:1 ratio (e.g. 2kg A: 1kg B).
- Stir the material on the sides and bottom of the mixing glass as well, as the material will settle there. It is best to pour the mixture into a clean mixing glass and mix again until the mixture is streak free. This ensures that the A-component resin and B-component hardener are completely mixed.
- Immediately after mixing , pour the resin-hardener mixture onto the surface to be coated, as the product may boil in the mixing cup depending on the system and quantity.
- Apply the epoxy resin or primer to the desired surface with a paint roller or brush.
- Allow the foundation to set.
- Then continue with the main layer in the same way. We recommend a maximum pouring height of 1 cm per layer. Casting with a thickness greater than 1 cm can lead to overheating, yellowing, cracking and deformation of the material. To achieve a total thickness of more than 1 cm, we recommend that the next 1 cm layer is approx. After 6 hours, pour it out.
- If you choose a color on this product page, you will receive coloring agents or color pigments in addition to resin and hardener.
- To color the base coat, mix the supplied color with resin component A or the resin-starch mixture. You can adjust the color intensity individually by adding more or less color pigments.
- The epoxy resin can be touched after 20 hours and approx. After 7 days, it is completely chemically cured.
- You can find more detailed information in our information table under the button „More information” on this product page.
Info: The epoxy resin is sensitive to any moisture during the curing time (danger: amine reddening, i.e. the formation of white spots in the upper layer). We therefore recommend that the epoxy resin does not come into contact with water until it has fully cured (at least 7 days). In the case of thin layers, cold temperatures (ambient, substrate and resin temperatures below 20 °C) and increased humidity, the time for the epoxy resin to completely harden may be longer.

Recommended layer thicknesses for covering floors and other surfaces
- Full layer (primer + main layer): for layer thicknesses of 1.5-2 mm, approx. 1.65-2.20kg/m²
- Primer: approx. 0.22-0.55kg/m² for a layer thickness of 0.2-0.5mm
- Main layer: approx. 1.10-1.65kg/m² for 1-1.5mm layer thickness
Recommended amount of pigment per kg of resin + starch:
- Pigment powder (metallic, neon and luminous colors): 1.5% (15 g)
- Transparent paints (except white, black and gray): 60 drops (1.8 g)
- Transparent white, black and gray dyes: 20 drops of dye (0.6 g)
- Translucent dyes (except white): 40 drops (1.2 g) of the desired color and 20 drops (0.6 g) of white dye
- Semi-transparent white: 60 drops of white ink (1.8 g)
- RAL unit colors: 1% (10 g)
- Mica pigments: 1% (10g)
