What is the difference between microcement, venetian plaster, and textured paint
Microcement is a concrete-like decorative coating consisting of microcement powder and acrylic resin. It is applied in two layers on floors, walls, and furniture, both indoors and outdoors.
Our venetian plasters, also known as decorative plasters, are an alternative to microcement for walls. With them, you can achieve different effects and textures on walls.
Unlike microcement and venetian plasters, which are applied with a trowel, textured paints are applied with a roller or brush.Textured paints are an alternative to traditional wall paint.
How to Apply Venetian Plaster on a Wall
1. Choose Your Design
Start by deciding which type of finish you want to achieve.
2. Prepare The Surface
Make sure that your substrate is even, dry, and free of dirt and separating agents. If necessary, use our Putty Primer to level the surface before applying the venetian plaster.
3. Apply The Decorative Plaster
Follow the instructions for mixing and application. You’ll find a video showing how to apply each plaster on the respective product page.
4. Optionally: Seal With PU Topcoat
In wet rooms, or to achieve a waterproof, easy-to-clean surface, apply our PU Topcoat on the cured venetian plaster. We recommend two layers.
Can I apply the decorative plaster outdoors?
Yes, our venetian plasters can be applied outdoors with our PU Topcoat.
Can I apply the venetian plaster on floors?
No, our decorative plasters can only be applied on walls. To coat floors, we recommend using our microcement and other flooring options, such as epoxy resin flooring, and stone carpet․
Can I apply the decorative plaster in my bathroom/shower?
Yes, you can apply our venetian plasters in your bathroom or shower with our PU Topcoat.
Can I use a brush or roller to apply the venetian plaster?
No, our stuccos must be applied with a trowel.
