The All-Rounder Clear Varnish

EPODEX’s 2K PU Topcoat is a flexible, transparent sealer that can be applied to both flexible and rigid surfaces, indoors and outdoors. Thanks to its outstanding mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, it serves as a protective layer on designer floors such as EPODEX’s Metallic Brush Effect and Epoxy Resin Flooring. It can also be used to seal porous surfaces such as Microcement and EPODEX’s Concrete Effect, protecting them against dirt and stains while making the surface easy to maintain.

Instructions For Use

1. Ensure the substrate is stable, clean, dry, and free from any substances that may prevent proper adhesion. We recommend increasing the adhesion by sanding.
2. To mix, pour the complete contents of Component B into the container of Component A. Should you not require the total quantity for the first coat, mix the resin A component and the hardener B component in a mixing ratio of 2:1 (e.g. 1 kg of resin A component with 0.5 kg of hardener B component).
3. Stir through the edge and bottom of the mixing cup as the material will settle there. Ideally, pour into a clean mixing cup and mix again until the mixture is streak-free. This ensures that the resin A-component and hardener B-component are completely mixed together. We recommend mixing small quantities, as the material is very reactive and thickens quickly (Max. processing time for 1.5kg - 20min at 20°C).
4. Pour the mixture into a paint tray and apply it thinly with a roller in a criss-cross pattern.
5. Let the first coat cure and apply the second coat in the same way. We recommend applying the second coat after min. 6h but not more than 20h.
6. Note: On smooth surfaces, such as epoxy resin, one coat of the sealant is sufficient.

Pro Tip for Flooring:

Do not wear rubber-soled shoes while sanding, cleaning, after cleaning, or during the application of the 2K PU Topcoat, as rubber microparticles may cause an uneven finish. Rubber-soled shoes can be worn once the second coat of 2K PU Topcoat is cured. Wait until the 2K PU Topcoat is walkable (approx. 12 hours) before applying the second coat.
