EP Booster - Epoxy Resin Accelerator for Reducing Curing Time
Accelerates the curing of EP Primer, EP Coating and EP Levelling Compound, helping to shorten the entire project timeline.
- Compatible with EP Primer, EP Coating and EP Levelling Compound
- Can be mixed with the B component of the respective coating system
- Application temperature: minimum 10 °C and maximum 20 °C
- EP Booster consumption for the total quantity of epoxy resin system A + B: 0.150 kg EP Booster for 7 kg EP Coating, 0.100 kg EP Booster for 3.3 kg EP Primer and 0.300 kg EP Booster for 10 kg EP Levelling Compound
- Reduces curing time when used at the specified consumption volume
- Scope of delivery: EP Booster

Instructions for Use
Prepare substrate
The substrate must be level, load-bearing, dry, sufficiently tensile and compressive strength, and clean. Dust, oil, grease and release agents must be removed in advance using suitable methods (preferred method: shot blasting; alternatively diamond grinding with thorough vacuuming). Application should be carried out at 10-20 °C (room and substrate temperature) and a maximum relative humidity of 70 %.
Mix EP Booster into the B component
Add EP Booster to the B component in the specified mixing ratio. Then mix the B component slowly and thoroughly with a drill for approx. 3 minutes at 300-400 rpm.
| Quantity EP Booster | |
| For 7 kg (A+B) EP Coating | 0.150 kg |
| For 3,3 kg (A+B) EP Primer | 0.100 kg |
| For 10 kg (A+B) EP Levelling Compound | 0.300 kg |
Add the mixture (EP Booster and B component) to the A component and mix thoroughly
Pour the B component mixed with EP Booster into the corresponding A component and mix slowly and thoroughly with a drill for approx. 3 minutes at 300-400 rpm. If required, add EP colour paste/quartz sand and mix thoroughly again. Then process the mixture immediately, as EP Booster halves the working time.
| Working Time at 20 °C | Working Time at 10 °C | |
| EP Coating with EP Booster | 20 Min. | 35 Min. |
| EP Primer with EP Booster | 25 Min. | 40 Min. |
| EP Levelling Compound with EP Booster | 20 Min. | 35 Min. |
For subsequent coating, depending on the product, broadcast with quartz sand or sand down
- If EP Booster is used with EP Primer or EP Levelling Compound, the layer must be broadcast with quartz sand while still fresh/liquid (recommended amount: approx. 300 g/m² for EP Primer and approx. 500 g/m² for EP Levelling Compound). Before applying the next coating, any loose excess quartz sand must be removed with a broom.
- If EP Booster is used with EP Coating, the first cured layer must be sanded until it is completely matt (white haze) before the second EP Coating layer can be applied.
| Walkable / recoatable after (at 20 °C) | |
| EP Coating with EP Booster | 6 hrs. |
| EP Primer with EP Booster | 8 hrs. |
| EP Levelling Compound with EP Booster | 6 hrs. |
Important Notes
Never add more EP Booster than recommended in the mixing ratio, as the material will otherwise become too thick and difficult to apply. If less EP Booster than specified is used, the effect may hardly be noticeable. In addition, EP Booster intensifies the natural yellowing of the epoxy resin.
Application & Substrates
EP Booster is particularly useful at low temperatures, as it supports the reaction and enables rapid curing. We also recommend it for all users who wish to significantly reduce the waiting times between coating steps or before the floor can be used. Do not use at temperatures above 20 °C, as the mixture will thicken too quickly and will no longer be easy to apply.

Properties & Limitations
EP Booster reduces the curing and recoating time of EP Primer (8 hours at 20 °C), EP Levelling Compound (6 hours at 20 °C) and EP Coating (6 hours at 20 °C). It shortens the waiting time without affecting the mechanical and chemical properties of the system. When used with EP Coating, we recommend an EP colour paste in light grey or darker to visually mask possible yellowing.
