Instructions for Use
1. Prepare substrate
The substrate must be level, load-bearing, dry, sufficiently tensile and compressive strength, and clean. Dust, oil, grease and release agents must be removed in advance using suitable methods (preferred method: shot blasting; alternatively diamond grinding with thorough vacuuming).
Application should be carried out at 10-30 °C (room and substrate temperature) and a maximum relative humidity of 70 %.
2. Apply EP Primer
- For mixing, pour the complete contents of EP Primer component B into the container of EP Primer component A and mix slowly and thoroughly with a drill for approx. 3 minutes at 300-400 rpm.
Working Time: approx. 40 minutes at 20 °C. - Immediately after mixing, pour the material onto the floor, spread it with a rubber squeegee and then roll over it to achieve an even surface and retain the floor texture.
- During curing, protect the area from moisture, dust and mechanical stress. Walkable after approx. 14 hours, fully load-bearing after approx. 7 days (temperature-dependent).
3. Apply EP Levelling Compound, EP Industry, EP Design, PU Flex or PU Design
Subsequent coating with other products may be applied at 20 °C no earlier than 14 hours and no later than 36 hours after application of the EP Primer.
Important: If the subsequent coating is not applied within 36 hours, the EP Primer must be broadcast with quartz sand while still fresh/liquid (recommended amount: approx. 300 g/m²).
Before applying the next coating, any loose excess quartz sand must be removed with a broom.
4. Important Notes
Colour deviations are possible due to raw material variations. When using different batches, base components should be pre-mixed. UV radiation and weathering may cause slight colour changes. To avoid curing and mixing problems, components A and B must first be thoroughly mixed, then transferred into a second clean container and mixed again.
Application & Substrates
EP Primer is suitable for concrete, cement screed and existing coatings (e.g. epoxy resin). It is not suitable for magnesite and anhydrite screeds, or moisture-permeable floors. In these cases, we recommend using our EP Allrounder. The primer is diffusion-tight, suitable for wet areas, and compatible with underfloor heating. The layer thickness is approx. 0.3 mm.

Properties & Limitations
EP Primer is designed for indoor use. The application of EP Primer improves adhesion on mineral substrates. The primer reduces the absorbency of the substrate and provides an even base for subsequent coatings. EP Primer is not compatible with flexible substrates or mastic asphalt. In these cases, we recommend using our PU Flex as a primer.
Speeds Up Your Project
With our EP Booster, you can significantly shorten the curing time of this product. The EP Booster is an accelerator and reduces the curing time from approx. 14 hours to approx. 8 hours at 20 °C without affecting the mechanical and chemical properties. It is particularly recommended at low temperatures or when the waiting time until further processing or use of the floor needs to be reduced. For this product, you require 0.1 kg per 3.3 kg of EP Primer (total quantity A + B).
